Over the last decade, thousands of guests have had the delight of attending a Murder Mystery hosted by Moonstone.
Originating in the South-West of England with Moonstone Theatre Company, Moonstone Murder Mysteries opened in London on the Halloween of 2017 and has never looked back. Since opening our London branch, the Moonstone name has grown even more, performing across the UK as well as Spain, Gibraltar and Greece.
Current/ Previous clients include Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Hedingham Castle, Hawth Theatre Crawley, Sunborn Gibraltar, Penguin Books and TikTok. We also have had 4 London residencies, firstly in the West End with Murder at the Library, secondly in Mayfair with Murder at the Boisdale, thirdly partnering with Fever to create Murder on the Underground at the Postal Museum in Farringdon.
We most recently completed our 4th London residency, Cyanide in the Speakeasy, which played Sold Out to guest acclaim.
Alongside our venue clients hosting public tickets events, we also have performed countless events for Birthday Parties, Corporate Events, Team Building Events, Hen & Stag Do’s, Books Launches, and even a wedding or two!
With our unique style of interactivity, we work only with professional comedy improvisers, who we will keep your guests engaged and laughing all night long. Our shows are designed to work in most venue set-ups (including private residencies), you name the place and we bring the case!Â
All of our shows are written in-house by our Creative Director, Sam, with themes varying from our Classic 1920’s Agatha Christie-inspired Peril on the Palatine Express, Fawlty Towers-Esqe Murder at the Mason Hotel, all the way to our Fairy-tale themed Bippity, Boppity, Buried! There is a case for everyone to enjoy, plus bespoke writing services available for any theme not covered in our repertoire.Â
In addition to our in-person events, when the world closed for COVID-19 in 2020, we used the time to adapt and create a variety of shows to be played with live actors via Zoom. Starting online with YouTube at the start of the UK lockdown, for 12 weeks we hosted the live Murder Mystery Solve-a-Long series, raising money for various charities, whilst offering hundreds of Detective’s every week an hour or two of escapism and silliness.
The online Murder Mysteries remain a staple of our offerings and we have had the privilege to perform for Detective Teams all over the world, in countries such as the USA, Canada, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, The Netherlands, Switzerland, China, and Singapore.Â
We have 3 branches now successfully operating, ourselves in London and the South East, the original Moonstone Theatre Company in the South West, and Moonstone North which is based in York and the surrounding areas.
