One of the most common phrases we have heard throughout the years is “I’ve always wanted to play a Murder Mystery, but how does it actually work?” Murder Mysteries can be played in all different ways, from DIY home kits, from around the city clue hunts, to dining experiences and immersive settings. We mainly deal in the latter formats of the artform, ensuring maximum engagement with none of the preparation stress!

The Role of the Guests at a Moonstone Murder Mystery
For guests attending a Moonstone event, gone is the fear of having to prepare in advance, simply turn up on the night and enjoy playing the case! We use professional comedy improvisors to create the story for you, playing the role of our Suspect Line-Up and an Inspector to host and guide you through the mystery.
Throughout the investigation, the Inspector will present you with the base facts to kick it off (and perhaps a cheeky clue or two along the way). Following this, depending on the room layout, our suspects will go table to table throughout the night interacting with guests, where they have plenty of opportunity to cross-examine them to pick up extra clues.
We appreciate every Detective plays their role differently, some will live the Old Bailey fantasy interrogating away, whilst others prefer to sit more passively and absorb the information to decipher the facts. With the experience of our professional actors, they know how to gauge a room perfectly to make sure everyone has the right experience for them, and are never forced to join in if they do not wish to do so.
